Europa Air & Sea’s Chinese footprint enhanced with Shenzhen site

Europa Air & Sea’s Chinese footprint enhanced with Shenzhen site

Europa Air & Sea has announced its second Chinese site, with the creation of a new sales office in Shenzhen, southeastern China, scheduled for this summer.

Shenzhen links Hong Kong to China’s mainland and is known as “tech city”. For 30 years it has emerged as China’s leading exporter, thanks to the city hosting the busy Yantian Port and Guangzhou Airport.

Europa’s latest investment follows recent news of a new air freight and sea freight office in Delhi, India and brings its total global sites to six. It also follows the continued success of Europa Air & Sea offices in Shanghai and Dubai, both of which opened in 2022.

Europa Air & Sea, part of Europa Worldwide Group, is setting the pace in the market and leading the sector at a time of immense change.  Last year, the Group reported a record turnover of £302m, as well as investment in products and services across the UK and Europe.

This announcement is another demonstration of Europa’s ambition to grow its geographical footprint, bringing services closer to customers, and supporting local supply chain requirements.

Angus Hind, Europa Air & Sea director comments: “Shenzhen has China’s second largest port, Yantian, a hub for the supply chain and is a huge export region.  We already handle considerable volumes through our Hong Kong and Shanghai offices, so this new location will massively boost our presence in the county.”

He added: “We’re planning to open with a local team of six and anticipate we’ll have a strong base of 15 within 12 months to meet local market expectation. The new team will have expertise in the logistics sector as well as a solid understanding of the local market.

Since launching as a separate division in 2015, Europa Air & Sea now employs more than 100 team members globally and has gone from strength to strength.

Hind added: “With our ongoing investments, we have sustained success across the air and sea freight market, and I am very much looking forward to bringing our expertise to even more international markets.”

Europa is one of the largest privately-owned transport and logistics companies in the UK, with a growing footprint across the globe.  The firm continues to invest heavily in both its corporate and operational capabilities that impact right across the business. By developing the process and systems that exemplify the personal service which Europa prides itself on and underpinning these with the right technology to optimise efficiencies, the Group strives to enhance its commercial resilience.
