Emirates to serve Colombo five times a day

Emirates will increase its Sri Lankan services with a fifth daily flight to Colombo from 1 August.

The fifth flight, number EK648 will be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, departing Dubai at 13.55h and arrive in Colombo at 19.55h. The return flight, EK649 will leave Bandaranike International Airport at 22.10h arriving back in Dubai at 01.00h. It will operate five flights a day, except Wednesday, which will have four.

It will add up to 161 tonnes of cargo per week in each direction for Sri Lanka’s exports of fresh and frozen seafood, fruits, vegetables and apparels, and imports of pharmaceuticals, household goods, mobile phones, ship spares and aircraft parts.

Emirates senior vice president commercial operations, West Asia and Indian Ocean, Ahmed Khoory says: “The increased frequency provides our customers with greater flexibility in their travel plans, allowing them to explore this exciting destination and connect seamlessly to other flights on Emirates’ extensive global network.”
