Emergency response exercise at Anchorage Airport

The Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) is conducting an emergency response exercise on Saturday, August 7 from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

In accordance with federal regulations, ANC must conduct a full-scale emergency response exercise at least once every 36 calendar months.

The exercise will take place in two locations:

  1. At the North Terminal, and
  2. On the East end of the airfield near Jewel Lake Rd.

Passersby can expect to see a large presence of emergency services personnel and equipment, and large plumes of smoke and fire.

Do not be alarmed.
