DHL Global Forwarding retains place as top forwarder for volumes

DHL Global Forwarding has retained its place as the top freight forwarder in terms of volumes in 2016, according to the latest Armstrong & Associates (A&A) Top 25 Global Forwarders List.

A&A says that total airfreight volumes in 2016 across freight forwarders in the top 25 increased by 5.6 per cent on 2015 to 14.5 million tonnes.

The top 25 are as follows:

1) DHL Global Forwarding 2,081,000 tonnes

2) Kuehne + Nagel 1,304,000 tonnes

3) DB Schenker 1,179,00 tonnes

4) UPS 935,500 tonnes

5) Panalpina 921,400 tonnes

6) Expeditors 875,914 tonnes

7) Nippon Express 705,478 tonnes

8) Hellmann Worldwide Logistics 576,225 tonnes

9) DSV 574,644 tonnes

10) Bollore Logistics 569,000 tonnes

11) Sinotrans 532,400 tonnes

12) Kinetsu World Express 495,947 tonnes

13) CEVA Logistics 421,800 tonnes

14) Agility 372,700 tonnes

15) Yusen Logistics 332,389 tonnes

16) Geodis 330,000 tonnes

17) NNR Global Logistics 286,897 tonnes

18) Kerry Logistics 282,200 tonnes

19) Dacsher 272,100 tonnes

20) Hitachi Transport System 230,000 tonnes
