DHL Global Forwarding appoints Wu in Cambodia

DHL Global Forwarding has appointed Oliver Wu as country manager for Cambodia, with effect.

In his new role, Oliver will report directly to Clement Blanc, managing director of DHL Global Forwarding for Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.

Based in Phnom Penh, Wu will lead and manage DHL Global Forwarding’s business activities in the country, and be responsible for driving growth in international freight forwarding, transportation, warehousing, and value-added logistics services.

DHL Global Forwarding for Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, Clement Blanc, says: “One of the fastest-growing among Asia’s developing economies, Cambodia has enjoyed sustained economic growth in recent years, driven by garment exports, real estate, and construction.

“There are yet more opportunities for further development on the horizon, with the economy projected to grow further by 7.2 per cent in 2016. Initiatives such as the ASEAN Economic Community will also open up markets for the free flow of goods, capital and labor.

“We are very pleased to have Oliver join the team as DHL Global Forwarding continues to establish its footprint here. With more than 10 years of experience in freight forwarding, Oliver has the strategic insights that would be invaluable as we grow our business in tandem with the country.”

Wu adds: “Cambodia is thriving and leading the pack as a key emerging market in Asia -one that DHL Global Forwarding is committed to grow with as the region powers the world’s economy. We expect to see increasing demand for logistics services, as trade continues to flourish. I look forward to leading a passionate team that’s dedicated to paving the way for DHL’s market leadership and success here.”
