DB Schenker has signed up as a foundation partner of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis at Western Sydney Airport.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in Berlin, Germany by Gladys Berejiklian, premier of the state of New South Wales and Alexander Doll, chairman of the supervisory board of DB Schenker.
By signing the MoU, DB Schenker intends to work with the Western City and Aerotropolis Authority to promote the development of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis.
The Aerotropolis is a commercial, logistics and education hub in the vicinity of the airport, which will be located outside 44 kilometres when it opens in 2026.
Doll says: “The Aerotropolis is set to become a pioneering project on our path to building smart cities with integrated transportation concepts and sustainable logistics solutions.”
