Davies Turner recognised in prestigious league table

Davies Turner, the long-established international freight and logistics company, has again been recognised as one of the UK’s leading independent private companies in the prestigious Sunday Times/Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table, sponsored by Grant Thornton and Lloyds Banking Group.

Compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events company, the annual table ranks Britain’s top performing mid-market private firms and entrepreneurs by their latest sales figures and profitability.

Says Davies Turner chairman, Philip Stephenson:  “Top Track 250 companies are an important engine of the UK economy, together employing over 350,000 employees, with combined sales of £63.3bn, and profits of £5.9bn.  These companies are predominantly owned by entrepreneurs, private equity firms and family holdings.  It’s a prestigious club to be in.”

“Inclusion within this year’s Top Track 250 table is a testimony to the progressive investment that Davies Turner continues to make in our distribution centres, IT systems, services and staff training, while our strong audited results and financial performance are a product of our total focus on responding to ever-evolving customer needs”.

“With very few other logistics companies in the top 250 table, it gives Davies Turner a unique selling point in competitive and rapidly changing markets, which has been a characteristic of the company’s development throughout its existence, as we approach our 150th anniversary next year and prepare for the challenges of the future.”
