The development of Airport City – an international business and innovation district integrated with Poland’s new transport hub – has taken a significant step forward with the signing of a cooperation agreement between CPK and the Łódź Special Economic Zone. Situated around the forthcoming airport between Warsaw and Łódź, Airport City is a strategic cornerstone of the national transport infrastructure programme and a rapidly growing international business zone aimed at attracting investment and driving innovation-led growth.
Airport City CPK will form a modern, multifunctional urban district integrated with the new airport and high-speed rail interchange. The project includes the construction of high-standard hotels, Grade-A office buildings, mixed-use developments, public spaces, and industrial facilities tailored to the needs of international travellers, employees, and global investors.
CPK’s Airport City is planned as a modern business district serving a broad range of companies and institutions from Poland and beyond. The development is expected to attract firms engaged in managerial, administrative, and research activities, especially in the aviation and technology sectors. By supporting a diverse mix of businesses, Airport City aims to foster an innovative ecosystem and contribute to the ongoing economic diversification of Poland.
The Łódź Special Economic Zone (Łódzka Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna) is one of the highest-ranked zones in Europe. Recognised for its investor-friendly policies and tailored support, it specialises in the creation and management of industrial parks and the construction of production, warehouse, and office facilities. It also runs several educational initiatives to support modern industry.
The cooperation will focus on exchanging expertise and knowledge related to developing industrial parks and strategic facilities. Both parties will share essential know-how and contacts with expert organisations involved in their joint investments. They will also collaborate through the educational programmes of the Łódź Special Economic Zone’s subsidiary, the Automation and Robotics Technical School. This offers significant potential for cooperation between engineers and experts from both organisations.

As part of the broader CPK Programme, Airport City and Cargo City will play a key role in improving connectivity, generating new jobs, and strengthening the investment appeal of the region between two major cities of Warsaw and Łódź. The planned infrastructure will contribute directly to regional growth and quality of life, in line with best practices observed at leading European transport hubs.
In 2024, CPK made historic progress in planning a modern, integrated transport system. With a state-of-the-art airport, high-speed rail, and road networks developing simultaneously, this ambitious investment is set to transform Poland’s connectivity, drive economic growth, and position the country as a major European transport hub.
Scheduled to open in 2032 CPK will serve as Poland’s new central airport. The project also includes a high-speed rail network. Strategically located at the heart of Central and Eastern Europe, CPK will be a major global transfer hub. Optimised flight routes, shorter transfers, and multimodal integration will ensure smooth connections between Polish cities, European capitals, and the rest of the world—making travel faster and more convenient than ever before.
