- The developer of Poland’s new Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) airport has awarded a tender for a multi-level car park designed to serve passengers, visitors, and staff. The facility will provide 5,300 parking spaces and include zones for short-term stays, VIPs, electric vehicle charging, people with disabilities, and rental cars.
- The winning bid was submitted by AKE Studio and ATP Kraków, with a contract valued at over PLN 10 million, of which PLN 5.5 million covers core design services including multiple planning variants and full construction documentation.
The company developing CPK, the new airport in central Poland, has announced the results of the tender for a multi-level car park that will serve passengers, visitors and airport staff. The facility will offer more than five thousand parking spaces.
The project involves creating modern parking infrastructure that is efficient, safe and user-friendly for both drivers and passengers. The scope of work includes, among other elements, detailed facility management planning and the integration of automated system technologies. The design is intended to meet the needs of all users parking at the new airport.
The multi-storey car park, which will complement the airport’s ground-level parking system, will provide 5,300 spaces for both short- and long-term use. Key features will include:
a short-term parking zone,
dedicated spaces for contracted clients,
a VIP zone on level +1,
charging points for electric vehicles,
spaces for people with disabilities,
a passenger pick-up area,
a car-rental area,
traffic and access-management systems
Seven bidders took part in the tender. The selected contractor is the design studio AKE Studio and ATP Kraków. CPK has signed a contract worth more than PLN 10 million gross, of which almost PLN 5.5 million gross is allocated to the core scope of work. This includes preparing plans for several design variants and producing conceptual, construction and technical designs.
The multi-level car park will be integrated with the airport infrastructure, enhancing overall efficiency and the quality of passenger service, while ensuring a high level of operational safety.
This is another project being delivered as part of the investment programme supporting the airport’s operations. Design work is also under way for the airport services maintenance bases, meteorological services buildings, the environmental hazard monitoring unit, the Data Processing Centre and the Airport Police Station.
CPK is a strategic investment focused on building the transport, logistics, and mobility backbone of Central Europe. By efficiently integrating air, rail, and road networks, it will radically transform the region’s infrastructure – removing barriers, supporting development, and better serving society. The project is not only vital for Poland’s connectivity and economic growth but will also act as a key driver of integration across Central and Eastern Europe.
Construction of the CPK passenger terminal is scheduled to begin in 2026 with deep foundation piling. The underground railway station and tunnel are expected to be completed by 2029. The airport is set to become operational by the end of 2032, together with the first section of the high-speed rail line connecting Warsaw and Łódź.
