Air cargo charter business CharterSync is announcing several strategic appointments to accelerate its global expansion plans.
Charter market veteran, Chris Metters, is joining the team in a consultant advisory role to the board as interim financial director, following 28 years with leading global air charter broker, Chapman Freeborn where he was group financial director and global special projects director and group compliance and risk officer until 2021.
In July, Hilary Blackburn will be appointed as risk management and compliance consultant. Blackburn has over 25 years’ experience in global corporate communications, governance, risk, compliance, and previously worked for Chapman Freeborn for 10 years, including secondments to the humanitarian cargo division.
Digital innovator Mark Walls also comes on board as chief product owner to drive the ongoing development of CharterSync’s award-winning technology.

Co-founder and director of CharterSync, Ed Gillett, says: “It is with a lot of excitement that we welcome Chris, Hilary, and Mark to the senior CharterSync team as we embark on this next chapter of growth and product development.
“Chris Metters’ and Hilary Blackburn’s track records in air cargo brokerage, flight support, and risk and compliance, combined with their insights into delivering sustainable and scalable growth around the globe, make them a valuable addition to our senior management team. Metters and Blackburn will advise the board at CharterSync on its business strategy, compliance, and risk management.
“Likewise, bringing Mark Walls on board at this time cements our commitment to accelerating the global rollout of the CharterSync brand and our innovative technology across new markets and verticals.”
“CharterSync has single-handedly brought long-overdue disruption to the market, building a new era of air cargo charter for airlines and freight forwarders thanks to its dual focus on digital innovation and customer service. I am excited to be working with CharterSync and its leadership team to help fulfil the company’s global ambitions,” Metters says.
