Chapman Freeborn appoints new CIO

Chapman Freeborn, the global air charter specialist and part of Avia Solutions Group, has appointed a new Group Chief Information Officer (CIO) as it seeks to optimise its operations and transition into a fully digitised, paperless organisation.

Laurent Jossa, who has over 20 years of experience working at a variety of aviation and air freight companies, joins the business from a leading IT provider dedicated to the air cargo sector, where he served as head of sales.

In his new role at Chapman Freeborn, Jossa will manage the company’s IT framework, analysing and mapping functions and processes across all areas of the business, before implementing digital systems to drive efficiencies and improvements.

“By fully digitising the way we handle data and automating where possible, I plan to reduce costs and the company’s carbon footprint, as well as save our staff time and allow them to focus on core business activities,” he said. “I will also establish a digital learning platform to support their training needs and expand our online resources to enhance communication and collaboration.”

Jossa will also manage Chapman Freeborn’s IT team and has already created exciting new job opportunities to align with the company’s digital transformation and ongoing expansion. These include a project manager and business process analyst.

He continued: “I was attracted to Chapman Freeborn because of its standing in the aviation industry, it is long established and incredibly successful. Its approach to handling COVID has also been impressive. I already knew the company’s CEO, Eric Erbacher, so when he offered me the role of CIO, I seized the opportunity.”
