Changi Airport continues to grow with 5.5% increase in June

Cargo volumes at Changi Airport continue to grow with a 5.5 per cent year-on-year increase in June to 172,040 tonnes.

The airport has seen year-on-year growth in every month of 2017, varying from 0.5 per cent in January to 12.6 per cent in May.

It has handled 1.02 million tonnes in the first six months of 2017, an increase of 6.8 per cent compared to the same period of 2016.

Changi has also welcomed new services, with Scoot operating four flights a week to Athens from 20 June, IndiGo introducing daily services to Bengaluru on 1 July, and Singapore Airlines doubling weekly flights to Rome, and increasing frequencies to Sydney from 33 a week to 35.
