Cathay Pacific takes over Hong Kong Express

Cathay Pacific has completed the acquisition of Hong Kong Express Airways, making it a wholly owned subsidiary.

Cathay Pacific Cargo has been appointed as the general sales and service agent for all cargo activities from 1 September.

Hong Kong Express will work closely with the incumbent GSSA, Hong Kong Air Cargo Carrier to ensure a smooth transition.

Rupert Hogg, chief executive officer of Cathay Pacific and chairman of Hong Kong Express says: “We are very excited to welcome HK Express into the group. We strongly believe that the acquisition is good for the customers, good for HK Express, good for the Cathay Pacific Group, and good for the development of Hong Kong as a global aviation hub.”

Ronald Lam, Cathay Pacific’s director commercial and cargo will be CEO of Hong Kong Express, with Lavinia Lau filling the role of director commercial.
