Carr joins Etihad Cargo, Kerr to pursue other opportunities

Etihad Cargo has confirmed two senior management changes with the arrival of Justin Carr and the departure of David Kerr.

Senior vice president David Kerr will be leaving the company at the end of the year “to pursue another opportunity within the industry” while Justin Carr is joining as vice president cargo commercial.

Commenting on Kerr’s contributions to the company, Etihad Airways chief executive officer, Peter Baumgartner says: “During his seven-and-a-half-year tenure, Etihad Cargo’s business trebled to become a billion dollar organisation. I would personally like to thank David for his tremendous work and to wish him well for the future.”

Speaking about Carr’s appointment, Baumgartner says: “We welcome Justin to the team at this exciting and challenging time in the air cargo industry. His experience and familiarity with the region and customers are already paying dividends.”

Carr has more than two decades of logistics industry experience, and joins from DHL where he was head of MNC Business Development for the Middle East and Africa region.

He will be responsible for the commercial proposition including global sales, key accounts, product teams and Etihad Cargo’s freighter platforms.

Kerr will continue to lead Etihad Cargo until the end of the year, and a successor will be announced in the coming months.
