Former Cargolux CEO to join Panalpina board of directors

Former Cargolux Airlines International chief executive officer, Dirk Reich is to join Panalpina’s board of directors.

The board of directors are proposing to elect the 54-year old dual German and Swiss national at its annual general meeting on 3 May, where he would succeed Roger Schmid, who is not standing for re-election.

All other board members are standing for re-election for another one-year term.

Panalpina chairman, Peter Ulber says: “We are pleased to be able to propose the election of Dirk Reich to the board of directors at our upcoming annual general meeting.”

“We believe his extensive knowledge in contract logistics and e-commerce as well as his experience with an air freight carrier will be an important asset for Panalpina.”

Reich serves on the advisory board of the Institute of Logistics Management at the University of St. Gallen and on the board of directors of LSG Lufthansa Service Holding.

He has also sat on the management board of Kuehne + Nagel and was Cargolux president and CEO before standing down in July 2016 for “personal reasons”.

In 2016 he founded R+R International Aviation to provide strategic advice in the fields of aviation, logistics and e-commerce in China.
