Cargo Solutions Network names official technology partner

Cargo Solutions Network (CSN), the global network of cargo solutions providers, has selected Hurricane Commerce as its data solutions partner.

CSN is an invitation-only network which launched earlier this year and aims to help its members accelerate the growth of their cargo businesses. It connects its members and facilitates their growth in exports, imports and cross-trade.

CSN has now taken the further step of selecting Hurricane as its technology partner.

Hurricane is the world leader in the provision of data solutions that help to power global trade.

They include Kona, the only product of its kind to provide customers with data validation, prohibited and restricted goods screening, denied parties screening and duty and tax calculation in a single API call.

Due to its modular nature, customers can access all of Kona’s functionality or just choose the services that are most urgent.

Increasing regulation around the globe, including the EU’s Import Control System 2 (ICS2) and Entry Type 86 clearance into the United States, are making the provision of complete, accurate and timely data mandatory. Failure to do so leads to fines, delays and licence suspensions.

Neville Karai, CEO of HAE Group and a CSN Board Member, said: “Poor data is no longer acceptable. Speed and accuracy of data is non-negotiable for airlines, handling agents, freight forwarders, e-commerce logistics providers and others involved in air cargo logistics.

“CSN is a tech-enabled solutions network and Hurricane’s data solutions are a great fit with this.

“The benefits of harnessing automated data solutions such as Hurricane’s are enormous including cost and time savings, increased operational efficiencies, strategic growth opportunities and regulatory compliance.

“CSN plans to share this unique service offering with its airline partners, handling agents, and forwarding customers.”

David Spottiswood, Co-Founder of Hurricane Commerce, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with CSN as their preferred technology partner.

“Our data solutions are already having a transformational impact for customers across the global supply chain and we are excited to roll them out across the air cargo sector in collaboration with the CSN team.”
