Embedded cargo insurance platform, Breeze, has welcomed its new agreement with Great American Insurance Group (Great American), a Fortune 500 listed company with over 150 years’ experience covering land and sea transport, to increase underwriting capacity and enhance all-risk cover across the US.
Great American, a leading A+ (Superior) rated provider, will expand Breeze’s capacity to integrate fully with freight forwarders’ workflows, offering instant quotes and coverage at no extra cost.
“Our mission at Breeze is to modernise cargo insurance and make it native to the freight stack,” said Eyal Goldberg, Chief Executive Officer, Breeze.
“Partnering with Great American gives us the scale and strength to deliver on that promise across the US.
“With Great American’s backing, Breeze can now offer seamless, fully embedded cover, backed by one of the strongest underwriters in the market.”
Breeze partnered with leading European cargo insurance underwriters Helvetia and Baloise earlier this year.
The latest collaboration with Great American complements that network and brings new momentum to Breeze’s US offering.
“We are excited to collaborate with Breeze to further our support for logistics companies,” said Michael Csorba, Divisional President, Great American Ocean Marine.
“Breeze’s technology platform offers digital and embedded cargo insurance that expands our reach into this growing area of marine insurance.
“Beyond the efficiency and penetration that their technology provides, I am very pleased with the expertise of the people we have worked with and look forward to building the portfolio for US freight forwarders in the years to follow.”
The collaboration aligns with broader trends reported in the market, including the digitisation of workflows, increased pressure on freight software platforms to offer value-added services, and the growth of embedded insurance in commercial lines.
“We’re thrilled to embark on this strategic alliance with Breeze as we continue to emphasize the critical importance of shipper’s interest cargo insurance for freight forwarders and logistics providers,” added Keith Blair, Divisional Vice President, Great American Ocean Marine.
“Together, we aim to set a new standard in the industry. Breeze’s cutting-edge automated solutions and streamlined approach to providing marine cargo insurance via their proprietary technology is not only timely – it’s transformative.
“Our aligned philosophies around innovation, sustainability and disciplined growth position us to build a long term, resilient portfolio that meets the evolving needs of the global supply chain. We’re confident this collaboration will drive meaningful progress in this dynamic and increasingly vital sector of our business.”
This comes amid the ongoing increase in cargo theft across the US with both chambers of Congress now processing bipartisan bills to strengthen enforcement and penalties.
