Bos Logistics and Air France KLM Martinair Cargo take all-electric truck into operation

Bos Logistics and Air France KLM Martinair Cargo take all-electric truck into operation

Long-time partners Bos Logistics and Air France KLM Martinair Cargo have joined forces to drive positive change in the logistics sector. On Wednesday, 9 October, Bos Logistics welcomed a brand new all-electric truck, the VOLVO FH Electric. The new truck symbolises the companies’ joint efforts to reduce their carbon footprint.

Reducing movements and emissions at Schiphol

The new truck, which will proudly feature the branding of both Bos Logistics and Air France KLM Martinair Cargo, marks a milestone in the partnership. The vehicle will be utilised immediately, playing a crucial role in Bos Logistics’ door-to-door service and carrying consolidated cargo from Air France KLM Martinair Cargo to the various air cargo agents. The new approach has already reduced the number of movements on the grounds of Air France KLM Martinair Cargo and Schiphol, cutting emissions significantly. But it’s time for the next step.

Joint sustainability ambition

The move to an all-electric truck stems from the companies’ shared ambition to further improve the environmental impact of the logistics chain. This journey began earlier with the switch from regular fuel to HVO100, a biofuel that reduces CO2 emissions by up to 90% for trucks operating on behalf of Air France KLM Martinair Cargo.

“Introducing this electric truck reinforces our commitment to creating a cleaner future,” said Frank Bos Jr, general manager of Bos Logistics. “This vehicle contributes to reducing our CO2 emissions and represents an important step towards promoting environmentally responsible logistics.”

Koen Bolster, Vice President Worldwide Operations AFKLMP Cargo continued: “The deployment of an all-electric truck underlines our determination to improve the logistics chain wherever possible. Together with Bos Logistics, we are today taking an important step towards more environmentally responsible logistics, further strengthening our joint position as industry leaders.”

Presenting the new all-electric truck was marked by a celebratory event at Air France KLM Martinair Cargo. The event highlighted both companies’ pride in their long-standing partnership and shared sustainability goals.

Next steps

Bos Logistics and Air France KLM Martinair Cargo are committed to working together to enhance the logistics sector and create a greener future. By adding the electric truck to their fleet, both companies aim to further improve their daily operations and reduce their environmental impact.

Introducing the electric truck is just the start. Both Air France KLM Martinair Cargo and Bos Logistics remain dedicated to exploring innovative and eco-friendly solutions and are determined to make their logistics operations even more efficient and environmentally responsible.
