Bolloré Logistics beefs up its Nordic presence

Bolloré Logistics beefs up its Nordic presence

Bolloré Logistics has taken a significant leap forward in the Nordics with the acquisition of a majority stake in the Swedish company Global Freight Solutions AB and its Finnish affiliate. This now extends the present Bolloré Logistics network to 600 offices in 109 countries with 25,000 employees. This acquisition reinforces the company’s presence in Europe, especially in the Nordic markets. It was a strategic target to complement the regional network having previously established a structure in Norway which was subsequently joined by a similar investment in Denmark.

Established in 2006, G Solutions is headquartered in the maritime hub of Gothenburg, with additional offices in Stockholm and Helsinki, offering a comprehensive portfolio of services. As an export driven economy Sweden is an industrial powerhouse. Alongside Finland, the area matches perfectly many of Bolloré Logistics’ strategic industry verticals, such as mining, power, automotive, aeronautics and defence, telecom, hi tech, healthcare and retail.

Commenting on the news, Henri Le Gouis, CEO Europe of Bolloré Logistics, said: “I am delighted to strengthen our footprint in the region, this will allow greater depth and consistency to our commercial proximity with clients. As the deal neared completion, we have already been working together under a partnership arrangement. This already delivered many commercial opportunities and we are delighted now to formalize our shared future, such as coupling up with the company’s industrial projects division, and to offer Swedish exporters new logistics solutions boosting their performances into the African, Middle East and Asian markets. I know our clients and network colleagues will welcome this development.”

Johan Moerth, managing director of G Solutions, added: “I am extremely positive about this development. We have grown rapidly and acquired a reputation for quality of service and accessibility to clients. I believe these values underpin our success and are perfectly matched to Bolloré Logistics’ culture. Now with access to the company’s systems, expertise and strategic carrier alliances I believe we will contribute very strongly to its growth in the region. In the challenging times of Covid-19 we are already extending Bolloré Logistics charter options and bespoke industry solutions across the full range of clients in our region.

“Whether it be China, the Americas or our unparalleled reach in Africa, we are seeing immediate synergies between our local client relationships and the power and scope of solutions that only a major player can provide.”
