Flowers for Ecuador: Avianca Cargo strengthens its commitment

Avianca Cargo, a leader in flower transport in Ecuador, participated in the Expoflor Ecuador 2024 fair, reaffirming its commitment to the floriculture sector and solidifying its role as a strategic partner for its customers. The airline is known for its robust value proposition, based on high-quality service and an offering of seven weekly flights, thus ensuring efficient and reliable connections for flower transportation.

Ecuador’s cargo transport has grown by about 20% over the last four years, with 90% of the cargo from this destination being flowers that are exported to markets in the United States and Europe.

With over 50 years of experience in air cargo transport, Avianca Cargo has established itself as a leader in the sector, for its leadership in flower transportation and its expansive network of connections. Currently, the airline operates more than 220 weekly cargo flights and over 1,400 flights with belly capacity, connecting over 70 destinations around the world.

In line with its vision to stay at the forefront of the sector, Avianca Cargo will increase its cargo capacity by approximately 20% in 2024, in anticipation of high-demand seasons. This decision reflects the company’s commitment to adapting to and meeting the needs of the dynamic floriculture market, supporting Ecuadorian exporters in delivering their products to international markets punctually and safely.

During the expo, Diogo Elías, Avianca Cargo Senior Vice President, emphasized: “Ecuador is a key market for us, and we understand the importance of supporting the growth and needs of the floriculture sector. The capacity increase we announced does not only reflects our commitment to helping flower producers and exporters during peak demand seasons but also our mission to continue improving our service and being a strategic partner for the industry. At Expoflor Ecuador 2024, we reinforced our dedication to providing efficient and high-quality logistics solutions, ensuring that Ecuadorian flowers reach their destinations in optimal condition.”

Through its participation in Expoflor Ecuador 2024, Avianca Cargo aims not only to reaffirm its leadership in flower transportation but also to strengthen its relationship with the floriculture sector, offering logistics solutions that allow its clients to compete in the international market with full confidence.

The airline’s competitive advantage includes one of the most comprehensive connection networks in the region, fleet expansion, and significant investment in infrastructure and processes, positioning it as one of the leading cargo airlines in Latin America and a key player in the global logistics of perishable products.
