Avianca Cargo first in South America to integrate with DB Schenker

Avianca Cargo announced the integration of its core system, iCargo, with DB Schenker’s digital infrastructure, becoming the first cargo airline in South America to integrate its system with the global logistics service provider. This integration will provide DB Schenker with real-time access to Avianca Cargo data, including availability, itineraries, rates, and the ability to manage bookings directly and 24/7.

It is also worth noting that the newly launched host-to-host integration represents the culmination of a comprehensive eBooking strategy for Avianca Cargo. It will provide customers of the airline with access to a range of travel services, including itineraries, flight availability, and real-time pricing. It will also enable them to manage their reservations in a precise and efficient manner, as well as to follow up on their bookings from within the system.

By directly connecting iCargo with DB Schenker’s system, instant and automated communication is established, streamlining the entire booking process from initial request to final confirmation.

“At Avianca Cargo we continue to focus on digitalization in order to facilitate processes for our customers. This integration marks a significant milestone for Avianca Cargo, becoming the first cargo airline in South America to integrate our iCargo system with the system of our esteemed partner, DB Schenker. By consolidating our commitment to technological innovation and continuous service improvement, we aim to provide our customers with a more seamless and streamlined booking experience,” affirmed Diogo Elias, Senior Vice President Avianca Cargo.

Furthermore, Avianca Cargo is the first Arline in the Americas to obtain all four IATA CEIV certifications: Pharma, Fresh, Lithium Batteries and Live Animals. It was recognized in 2023 as the best cargo airline in the region by the Air Cargo News Awards and won the ESG Award in 2024 from the Aviation Achievements Awards, positioning it as a cargo airline committed to environmental, social and governance sustainability.

“Immediate access to rates is a key enabler for providing our customers with competitive transport solutions in a timely manner. After having launched API interfaces with several of our key airline partners around the globe, the direct integration with Avianca Cargo optimizes our access to air freight capacities, especially to and from South America. We are looking forward to this new digital partnership”, stated Asok Kumar, EVP Global Air Freight at DB Schenker.
