The NextGen Logistics Network, a new community of young professionals in logistics and supply chain operations, is continuing to gain traction.
Two events, with tentative autumn dates of September and October, are planned to allow facility visits, networking with industry peers and opportunities to meet well-established industry players. The visit relevant to airfreight will be hosted by software house Agency Sector Management UK (ASM UK) at London Heathrow.
The new community, backed by London-based industry publicity and marketing company Meantime Communication, is described as “an excellent opportunity for young people within different areas of logistics to share best-practice and inspire other would-be newcomers to the industry. We want to make sure that young people in the industry today have easy access to find and speak with other young people, whatever the mode,” according to organisers.
“We aim to bring together members and companies from across all modes, as well as 3PLs, tech companies, and forwarders but also be a platform where communication does not necessarily has to be in a formal setting.
“We want to encourage conversations that are more candid, honest and friendly between members. We also want to take the opportunity of this initiative to make sure that more young women are on board and find it simple to voice their opinions as well as share their ideas.”
Organisers encourage interested readers to join its LinkedIn group called NextGen Logistics Network. It has been established as a social media platform to encourage young career starters as well as experienced industry peers to share views, opinions and best practice in their profession.
