Atlas Air to open Kentucky global operations centre

Atlas Air and DHL extend freighter agreement

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings will expand operations in Kentucky with the opening of a global operations centre in Erlanger.

The facility is located near Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and having secured a long-term lease, it is expected to open in 2021.

Atlas Air employs 318 professionals, including 182 Kentuckians at facilities in northern Kentucky including the Southern Air subsidiary.

Employees from the Florence location will relocate to the Erlanger site once it is complete.

Kentucky governor Matt Bevin says: “We are honoured to support Atlas’ growth on a global scale and appreciate that Atlas recognises what we know in the Commonwealth: Kentucky is an ideal partner for dynamic, growing companies.”

William Flynn, chief executive officer of Atlas Air Worldwide says: “Our new operations centre in Erlanger will enable us to continue to deliver high-quality services to our customers and support their growing global networks. We look forward to the development of a modern, state-of-the-art facility that will foster a great sense of pride with our existing and future employees.”
