April tonnage growth of 4.6% for Leipzig Halle

Leipzig/Halle Airport grew its airfreight volumes in April by 4.6 per cent compared to the same month in 2016 as it handled 352,051 tonnes.

Germany’s second-largest air cargo hub passed the one million tonnage mark last year for the first time handling 1,052,372.4 tonnes and became the fifth European hub to reach the milestone.

This was a 6.5 per cent increase over the previous year at Europe’s fifth largest cargo hub, which is Germany’s second busiest by volumes after Frankfurt Airport.
