Antonov Airlines picked up the ‘Air Business of the Year’ award last night’s Freight Transport Association award night in central London.
Over 450 guests gathered to celebrate the best of UK and global logistics with a series of awards. Baroness Vere, UK parliamentary under secretary (Department for Transport) delivered the keynote address, starting with a tribute touching on the recent people-smuggling tragedy in Essex. A round of applause from all attendees acknowledged this tribute.
The event, held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London, has gained a reputation as the most exciting event in the logistics industry’s calendar. FTA’s Logistics Awards 2019 were sponsored by Brigade, CEVA Logistics, Siemens, Port of Dover, FTA Recovery and Santander.
David Wells, chief executive of FTA, said: “With world-class entertainment, a glittering reception and gourmet three-course dinner, the FTA’s Logistics Awards night is truly the blue riband event of the logistics sector. The evening is packed with stimulating conversation, networking and insights for leaders across the logistics sector; as such, it was unsurprising to see tickets selling out fast.”
