ANTONOV Airlines Delivered Equipment from Italy and Brazil for Wood Products Factory in Chile

The world leader in super-heavy and oversised cargo air transportations ANTONOV Airlines performed the logistics operation with double pick-up of necessary cargo to help keeping the production of manufacture line.

ANTONOV Airlines, in cooperation with NEO Air Charter and Logwin, performed the transportation of the rim from Italy and the ferrule from Brazil, with a total weight of about 80 tons, for the kiln that produces quicklime, a necessary product for wood production in Chile. Both pieces needed to be changed during a plant shutdown scheduled in strict timeframe. For this, it was necessary to deliver both pieces at the same time of assembly and take advantage of the engineering team hired for such purposes.

“This project was interesting and unique. The cargo was located in two different parts of the world. It was required to develop a system of fastenings and points for securing the load so as not to build a frame since this is a long process and financially costly. In cooperation with our customer Logwin we organised a trip of our load planner specialist to the manufacturing facility in Italy to assist in lashing planning. This project was implemented as a result of a successful partnership: everything went seamless. The cargo was safely delivered to Chile,” commented Olha Danylova, Commercial Executive, ANTONOV Airlines.

“We organized special transport from Italy via Brazil into Chile. It was amazing to see in Italy how dedicated and professional all the arrangements were done from the involved teams from Ukrainian Antonov / NEO Air Charter and Logwin in Germany, Italy and Brazil. The additional loading in Brazil was managed without any issues and the AN124 arrived in time in Chile and was unloaded without any problems , job done in a perfect way. This was and international teamwork between all parties involved. A big thank you and also appreciation to the team of Antonov who did a fantastic and professional job in order that this operation could be an success from the start until the end,” said Alexander Bang, Director Product Management Airfreight | Global, Logwin Air + Ocean.
