AmSafe Bridport and Nolinor Aviation pioneer fire containment solution for Boeing 737-200 combi flights

AmSafe Bridport has partnered with Nolinor Aviation to develop and implement Fire Containment Covers (FCCs) and specialised netting, enabling the airline to meet upcoming regulatory changes while preserving the operational flexibility of its Boeing 737-200 combi aircraft.

This collaboration addresses Transport Canada’s mandate to transition from Class B to Class F cargo compartments, driven by the cancellation of AMOC’s for AD 93-07-15 and the June 2025 exemption deadline.

Recognising Nolinor’s unique operational requirements, and the role of the Boeing 737-200 for gravel runway access, AmSafe Bridport developed a tailored solution featuring advanced FCCs and specialised netting. Designed to provide up to six hours of passive fire containment, these FCCs ensure an added layer of protection against potential in-flight fire hazards. It eliminates the need for fixed bulkheads, which would severely restrict Nolinor’s ability to adapt cargo configurations.

The rollout of the FCC solution is already underway across Nolinor’s fleet, with full compliance expected well ahead of the regulatory deadline. AmSafe Bridport is also supporting Nolinor Aviation with a dedicated training programme to ensure seamless integration and optimal use of the FCCs by flight and ground crews.
