Aliscargo Airlines: Italy’s newest cargo airline

Aliscargo Airlines, the first Italian airline entirely dedicated to the intercontinental transport of goods, begins its business by placing two Boeing 777-200ER on the flight line.

The first routes will connect, with more weekly frequencies, Italy with Asia-Pacific and North America.

The chairman of Aliscargo Airlines has beened named as Fulvio Gismondi. The CEO is Francesco Rebaudo and chief commercial officer is Ulrich Ogiermann.

The shareholders are private investors led by the Leali Group and the management.

In announcing the initiative, Chairman Fulvio Gismondi declared: “Air freight transport in the world during the two-year period 2020 – 2021, with the high need for urgent shipments of medical supplies for the pandemic, recorded a surge in significant volumes and turnover compared to previous years.

“A trend that has also been reinforced by the continuous and constant expansion of e-Commerce. Today, the need to offer customised cargo services, depending on the product and the destination, is increasingly being verified. Aliscargo Airlines is ready to create a new bridge to the world to support the expansion of Made in Italy.”
