Albion Aviation Group delivers industry first

The Albion Aviation Group has partnered with industry pharma expert Aynur Rzepa from Rzepa Consulting to deliver the aviation industry’s first training module on the successful handling of vaccine charter flights.

Rzepa boasts an impressive industry record having worked with one of the world’s largest airlines to develop their cold chain product and currently works as an independent validator and instructor for IATA’s Centre of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) in Pharmaceutical Logistics.

The module was written in direct response to requests made by Albion’s existing client base and their wider industry partners who are preparing for a potential surge in charter demand should a global COVID-19 vaccine become available. The first training module on handling vaccine charter flights is set to take place at the end of August.

The module is designed to help to identify and mitigate pharma risks when handling a vaccine charter flight. Topics include avoiding the important pitfalls in offering a pharma charter flight and learning how to become a reliable and attractive partner in the pharma supply chain with controlled liability and appropriate pharma safety know-how.

Rzepa comments: “Partnering with Albion gives an opportunity to share important knowledge and expertise in handling vaccine charter flights. The pharma industry needs more GDP-compliant, competent and reliable service providers (air transporters) which are currently in great shortage. This partnership creates the opportunity for the air cargo transporters to become preferred partners for the pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution industry.”
