Airport handlers at risk of collapse

The BBC has reported that the UK’s major airport handlers, Swissport, WFS, Dnata and Menzies, are at risk of collapse.

The handlers, which are responsible for 90% of handling services across the UK, have called for assistance from the government in an urgent letter as their revenues take a hard hit amidst the pandemic.

They have warned that airports could grind to a halt for up to four months without their services and 25,000 jobs could be at risk. Their services are vital in the current climate and will be vital for global recovery. More details on this story in the next issue of Air Cargo Week.
