Air Menzies moves into new state-of-the-art facility in Melbourne

Air Menzies International is moving into a new facility in Melbourne, having spent over 30 years at its previous location.

The brand new facility is located within the new Melbourne Airport Freight Precinct, one kilometre and three minutes drive from the airport’s cargo terminals.

It provides a significantly larger warehouse, office and yard space with a dock leveller, and awnings covering all loading bays.

AMI’s range of services includes Approved Security Screening with multiple x-ray machines and explosive trace detection equipment.

AMI regional vice president for Australasia, Geoff Young says: “The new facility and addition to our truck fleet represents a significant investment in upgrading our capabilities at Melbourne, which is one of our largest operations in the Australasia region.

“In addition to providing quicker freight recovery and delivery through its proximity to the terminals, our new base gives us the capacity to handle larger volumes, particularly with the anticipated increase in security screening requirements. It will also enable us to assist our agent customers with 3PL opportunities and ocean container services.”
