Aeronaves orders fourth AEI MD-82SF converted freighter

Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) has received a fourth order for an MD-82SF converted freighter from Mexico-based Aeronaves.

AEI will start modifying the aircraft, registration MSN 49990, at its Commercial Jet facility in Miami. The aircraft will be re-delivered to fly for the DHL network in Mexico.

Aeronaves is the largest overall operator of AEI MD-80SF series freighters, and the AEI MD-82SF is capable of carrying 12 88” x 108” containers/pallets.

Aeronaves was founded in 1995 and provides services throughout the Americas including the US, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. It has a fleet of 30 Metroliners, six Convair 640s, six DC-9-30s, two DC-9-15s, three MD-80SFs, four Citations and one Hawker.
