First AEI CRJ200 SF completes maiden flight

Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) has completed the maiden flight of its CRJ200 SF, and is hoping to get Federal Aviation Administration certification “imminently”.

IFL Group, based in Waterford, Michigan, is the launch customers for the CRJ200 SF, and AEI has 45 firm orders and commitments for the aircraft. The AEI CRJ200 SF has a payload of up to 6.7 tonnes and offers customers two separate loading systems, either eight 61.5” x 88” or eight 62” x 88” unit load device positions. The aircraft has a 94” x 77” main deck cargo door.

The conformity CRJ200 SF was modified by Commercial Jet in Miami, and AEI plans to carry out a smoke barrier test flight on 15 July.
