AEI certified by FAA for CRJ200 freighter conversions

Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) has gained Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification for passenger-to-freighter conversions for the Bombardier CRJ200.

The aircraft will have a maindeck payload of up to 6.7 tonnes, depending on model and aircraft weight limits. The CRJ200 SF offers two cargo loading systems: eight 61.5” x 88” or eight 62” x 88” unit load device positions, helped by the 94” x 77” main deck cargo door.

AEI president, Roy Sandri says: “We are absolutely delighted that we have received FAA Certification. I would like to thank the entire AEI team for their diligence and dedication to the CRJ200 SF program as well as thank all of the Commercial Jet employees for their hard work in bringing this program to fruition.”

The CRJ200 SF will be redelivered to and enter service for Waterford, Michigan based IFL Group. AEI has over 45 firm orders and commitments for the CRJ200 SF.
