Advanced Supply Chain Group expands into Middle East

Advanced Supply Chain Group expands into Middle East

UK-headquartered international supply chain specialist, Advanced Supply Chain Group (ASCG), has expanded its operations with a new base in Dubai trading as Advanced Intelligent Supply Chain.

The company, which counts many of the world’s fastest growing retailers amongst its customer base, has made two senior appointments to grow the business in the Middle East. Russell Treadwell brings 15 years’ sea and airfreight experience and Manraj Ahdan has worked in the sector for nearly two decades. The recruits will work closely with CEO, Mike Danby MBE and commercial director Ben Balfour to build ASCG’s Middle East operations.

With exclusive links to Dubai World Central (DWC) Airport, ASCG has enhanced its air-global freight capabilities with this move and already secured work with customers in the region. The business will use the base as a strategic global hub for its blue-chip retail, manufacturing and oil and gas clients.

ASCG CEO Mike Danby MBE says: “International trade centres are shifting. Whether you look towards Europe and Brexit, the trend of production shifting to South East Asia, Mexico and Central Europe or the new trade tariffs between the US and China, it’s an unprecedented period of change. But change brings opportunities, so we’ve made the investment to build a meaningful operation in the Middle East.

“We have grown the business by being faster, better and cheaper than the competition. The new hub will complement our existing network and position us to offer better service and more options for existing customers, as well as working with the growing e-commerce and retail businesses in the Middle East.”

Manraj Ahdan, who has been working in the region for nearly a decade, added: “I have 18 years of experience in air and sea freight – most recently in the Middle East. In that time, we’ve seen rapid growth of the industry in Dubai itself and as a global hub. ASCG will be a compelling option for organisations in the Middle East as our point of difference in the market is our proprietary technology and the business’ truly global network.”

With seven UK sites and operations in the Czech Republic, Germany and China, ASCG facilitates the transportation of goods and other products from their source to final destination.
