ABDA GROUP recently celebrated its growing partnership with Turkish Airlines Cargo

ABDA GROUP recently celebrated its growing partnership with Turkish Airlines through its latest  appointment as Cargo GSA for the airline in Sri Lanka.

The new appointment comes at the heels of the burgeoning relationship between the two companies covering a tenured Cargo GSA relationship in Malaysia and a robust Interline relationship through ABDA’s partner World Cargo Solutions.

The event was held at a grand ballroom in downtown Colombo with over 250 guests in attendance. The people assembled represented a cross section of freight forwarders fully representing the Sri Lankan marketplace and reaffirming Turkish Airlines’ vaunted position as Sri Lanka’s 5th largest air cargo operator as of 2019.

In attendance from Turkish Airlines Cargo were Fatih Cigal – Senior Vice President Cargo Marketing, Selahaddin Burak Omeroglu – Vice President, Cargo Sales (Middle East and South Asia) and Halit Tuncer – Regional Cargo Sales Manager (MESA). The gentlemen reconnected with many of their valued clients in the Sri Lankan marketplace and presented various awards to their clients for their achievements in 2019.

“This is an important appointment for us with a valued partner for a new territory. We have been eyeing a greater expansion in South Asia and are most grateful to our esteemed partner, Turkish Airlines, for this appointment”, said Muhammad Zulkarnain, Group Chief Executive Officer of the ABDA Group.

“It is my firm belief that we can make the vision of our colleagues in Turkish Airlines a firm reality and help get them to their desired position in the global marketplace. With the wonderful new airport in Istanbul, the aggressive and professional management team and their robust partnerships – I see it as a dawning certainty,” he continued.
