This year, its Türkiye subsidiary, Çelebi Hava Servisi, a leading provider of ground handling and cargo services, achieved a significant milestone by earning a place on the “World’s Best Companies for Sustainable Growth 2026” list prepared by TIME and Statista. Following a rigorous assessment based on environmental impact reduction, sustainable growth capacity and financial performance, Çelebi Hava Servisi ranked 31st worldwide, becoming one of only four companies from Türkiye to be recognised.
The TIME/Statista methodology evaluates multi-dimensional indicators, including energy consumption, carbon footprint management, waste reduction, environmental compliance, corporate governance and financial growth performance. Çelebi Hava Servisi excelled across these categories thanks to its data-driven management systems, emission-reducing technology investments and long-term infrastructure strategy.
Operating within Çelebi Aviation’s global structure, Çelebi Hava Servisi qualified for the list on the strength of its long-term transformation program built on a vision of safety, digitalisation, operational excellence and sustainable value creation. This international recognition demonstrates that the company’s strong and scalable business model, one that manages financial performance and environmental impact reduction in parallel, has been validated at global standards.
As part of Çelebi’s broader sustainability agenda, the Türkiye operation acts as an important implementation platform for organisation-wide initiatives in employment, technology investments, digital transformation and environmental compliance. These efforts complement strong performances across Çelebi’s international operations, while ongoing investments in Türkiye continue to generate meaningful progress that supports the company’s global success.
Serving more than 400 airline partners and supporting the travel experience of millions of passengers, the company continues to implement initiatives focused on environmental compliance, digitalisation and energy efficiency with a professional team of over 8,000 employees.
Çelebi has a fleet of over 700 electric ground support equipment (GSE) units across its network, representing around 35 percent of its total equipment, and is on track to increase this share to more than 50 percent in the near term. Solar-powered facilities have been commissioned across multiple stations, energy-efficiency-focused architectural solutions have been adopted, and AI-supported automation systems are driving emission reductions, heightened safety levels and significant process optimisation.
Examples across Çelebi Aviation’s international network include the deployment of electric de-icing vehicles and LEED-certified technical maintenance and cargo facilities at Istanbul Airport, a fleet in Hungary with more than 100 electric vehicles, including the EU’s first 35-ton electric forklift at Budapest Airport; and in Indonesia, a station where 77 percent of the newly acquired ground support equipment is electric, reflecting our commitment to building sustainable operations from day one in emerging markets.
Beyond these environmental and operational initiatives, Çelebi Hava Servisi approaches sustainable growth not solely through environmental KPIs, but also through inclusivity, safety, innovation, data-driven management and long-term value creation. The company continues working to become a global reference point in environmental, digital and operational transformation while expanding and standardizing its sustainability framework across all regions.
Dave Dorner, Group CEO of Çelebi Aviation, said: “Being included in this important list prepared by TIME confirms our strong commitment to sustainability on an international scale.
