acSEA 2025: What mattered most in Southeast Asia’s top cargo event

The second edition of transport logistic Southeast Asia and air cargo Southeast Asia (tlacSEA) successfully wrapped up after three days of dynamic exhibitions, expert dialogues, and breakthrough innovations. Held from 29th-31st October 29 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore, the event welcomed over 10,000 logistics professionals, featured more than 120 exhibitors, and hosted 160+ expert speakers from around the globe.

Organised by MMI Asia Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Messe München, tlacSEA 2025 positioned itself as the region’s most influential logistics and supply chain event, shaping dialogue around digitalisation, sustainability, and supply chain resilience amid growing intra-ASEAN trade and digital commerce.

Accelerating a US$390 billion market

Southeast Asia’s freight and logistics sector is booming. With the market projected to hit US$390 billion by 2030 and e-commerce logistics growing at 14 percent annually through 2025, tlacSEA 2025 arrived at a pivotal moment. The event provided a strategic platform for governments, operators, and innovators to align national goals with regional priorities and push forward real-world transformation.

Michael Wilton, CEO and Managing Director of MMI Asia, described the event as “a catalyst for regional transformation,” noting the alignment of local initiatives with broader ASEAN strategies for sustainable and digital growth.

Exhibition highlights

Singapore’s status as a global logistics hub offered the ideal setting. The show floor featured industry giants such as Cathay Cargo, Emirates SkyCargo, Etihad Cargo, OSP, and Siemens, as well as national pavilions from Singapore, Germany, China, and Taiwan. Visitors explored a complete value chain: from air and ocean freight to warehousing, project logistics, and integrated multimodal solutions.

The Innovation Hub was a focal point for next-gen technologies, showcasing AI-driven optimisation, predictive analytics, cargo automation, and SME-ready digital platforms. These solutions reflect a broader shift in the region toward seamless, scalable, and tech-enabled logistics operations.

90+ sessions

A comprehensive conference program ran parallel to the exhibition, delivering more than 90 sessions across three stages. Content highlights included:

• LOGTech Day: Focused on emerging digital tools and platforms.

• Project Cargo Sessions: Tackled challenges in heavy-lift logistics and complex transport.

• Future Leaders’ Day: Promoted career pathways and leadership development.

• Country Dialogues: From Singapore and Malaysia to India and Vietnam, national leaders shared insights on cross-border logistics harmonization.

Safety and workforce recognition

The event also hosted the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Awards 2025, honouring excellence in transportation and storage sector safety, workforce development, and compliance.

tlacSEA 2025 builds on its debut edition’s success, which facilitated over 580 business meetings. Broader regional engagement this year reinforced Southeast Asia’s strategic logistics role. According to organisers, the event has matured into a key driver of multimodal integration, regional trade enablement, and digital innovation.

Trade visitors enjoyed full access to the exhibition halls, conference programs, and exclusive networking opportunities, including a well-attended Industry Night that fostered informal collaboration among global stakeholders.

As supply chains continue to adapt to macroeconomic shifts and technological disruption, Southeast Asia’s logistics sector is uniquely positioned for growth. tlacSEA 2025 affirmed that the region’s future will be shaped by collaborative infrastructure investment, digitally empowered operations, and a skilled, resilient workforce.

TAM Group showcases circular design and sustainable innovation

At tlacSEA 2025, TAM Group unveiled its forward-thinking approach to sustainable event design and logistics innovation. The company’s striking booth—featuring modular, reusable, and recyclable elements—demonstrated its commitment to circular principles in the air cargo industry.

“It’s about more than visual impact; it’s about aligning our brand values with sustainable action,” said Anindam Choudhury, Vice President Commercial of TAM Group.

The booth was designed with minimal carbon footprint in mind and was built using low-waste materials and reusable components to significantly reduce post-event waste. This initiative underscores TAM Group’s broader vision for environmentally conscious cargo operations, marking a standout presence at the event that drew wide attention for both form and message.

As sustainability becomes a competitive differentiator in logistics, TAM Group’s initiative signals a growing emphasis on eco-conscious branding and innovation across the air freight ecosystem.

Emirates SkyCargo launches weekly freighter to Bangkok

During tlacSEA 2025, Emirates SkyCargo confirmed the launch of a weekly freighter service to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), further extending its East and Southeast Asia network. The carrier now serves 43 global destinations with its dedicated freighter fleet, including 11 across the region.

“Our operations across East and Southeast Asia are among the most expansive on our global network — from flight frequencies, freighter deployment, available capacity and gateways served.” – Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates SkyCargo.

This addition is aimed at serving Thailand’s growing exports in high‑tech goods, garments and perishables, and highlights Emirates’ positioning of Dubai as a central hub for global trade.

Liège and Rockford airports sign sister‑airport agreement

At the event in Singapore, Liège Airport (Belgium) and Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD, USA) formalised a sister‑airport agreement to deepen their cargo partnership. The deal focuses on increasing freighter traffic between the two hubs, launching joint marketing and sales initiatives, and collaborating on digital and operational projects.

“Liege and Rockford are both cargo‑centric airports with complementary strengths… this partnership formalises our collaboration and sets the stage for exciting new opportunities.” – Zachary Oakley, Executive Director, RFD.

This move marks a significant step in strengthening trans‑Atlantic cargo connectivity and highlights the importance of strategic nodal link‑ups in a shifting global air‑freight map.

SATS unveils “Hub Handler of the Future” programme

SATS Ltd used the platform of tlacSEA 2025 to announce its “Hub Handler of the Future” initiative via its Singapore Hub. The programme centres on automation, AI, operational innovation, sustainability and workforce development to future‑proof mega‑airport cargo operations.

“By integrating cutting‑edge technologies and nurturing talent, we will help build resilient, agile and sustainable hubs for tomorrow.” – Henry Low, CEO, SATS Singapore Hub.

The rollout underscores how Asia‑Pacific hub operators are re‑engineering ground‑handling and cargo terminals to meet escalating e‑commerce volumes and the demands of digital supply chains.
