DHL Global Forwarding appoints new CEO for Middle East and Africa

  • DHL Global Forwarding has named Tobias Maier as CEO for the Middle East & Africa region, effective December 1, 2025, succeeding Amadou Diallo, who is stepping down after eight years to become Group CEO of Aramex.
  • Maier, a DHL veteran since 2008, brings extensive expertise in finance, digital innovation, and strategic growth. He previously served as CFO for the MEA region and CEO of Saloodo! MEA, DHL’s digital freight platform. He played a key role in M&A activities and expansion across Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Ethiopia, and the UAE, and was instrumental in launching RailDirect, a joint venture with Etihad Rail.

DHL Global Forwarding has appointed Tobias Maier as CEO for the Middle East & Africa region, effective December 1, 2025.

He succeeds Amadou Diallo, who is stepping down after eight years to join Aramex as group CEO. Tobias Maier has experience in finance, digital innovation, and strategic growth. Since joining DHL in 2008, he has held several leadership positions, most recently serving as CFO for the Middle East and Africa region and CEO of Saloodo! Middle East and Africa, DHL’s digital freight platform.

He has also been involved in driving regional M&A activities, expanding the company’s footprint in key markets such as Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Ethiopia and the UAE, and establishing innovative initiatives such as DHL’s RailDirect joint venture with Etihad Rail.

Speaking on the appointment, Oscar de Bok, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding, Freight, said, “Tobias is a forward-thinking leader with a strong track record of delivering results and driving innovation.
