SkyTeam Cargo celebrates 25 years

  • SkyTeam Cargo celebrated its 25th anniversary on 28 September 2025, marking a quarter century of collaboration and innovation as the world’s only global airline cargo alliance.

SkyTeam Cargo was established in Washington D.C. in 2000 by four founding airlines: Aeromexico Cargo, Air France Cargo, Delta Cargo and Korean Air Cargo. Today, SkyTeam Cargo connects an expansive network of over 850 destinations across 150+ countries with a fleet of more than 2,500 aircraft. The alliance offers four distinct product lines: Express, General, Specialized and Customized.

“2025 marks a milestone year as SkyTeam Cargo celebrates a quarter century of enhancing the global shipping experience. 25 years in, we remain proud to be the world’s only airline cargo alliance, now expanded to serve hundreds of destinations. From the beginning, SkyTeam Cargo was built on customer focus and global airline collaboration–like our passenger operations. Those values remain our guiding star as we look ahead and continue to innovate for the future,” said Patrick Roux, SkyTeam CEO.

As it enters its next chapter, SkyTeam Cargo is focused on digital transformation to create an even more seamless shipping experience worldwide. Through the development of shared technology, increasing global connectivity and enhancing the freight experience for members and customers are key priorities for the future.
