Hong Kong Airlines has increased its Airbus A320 service to Tianjin to twice daily as it looks to expand further into Northern China.
The increased Tianjin service was announced at a press conference held at the St Regis Hotel in the city, with guests from organisations including Tianjin Binhai International Airport, Tianjin Customs and Post Service Office of Tianjin Municipal People’s Government.
Hong Kong Airlines chief commercial officer, Li Dianchun says: “Tianjin is the only pilot Free Trade Zone in Northern China, and is one of the major air cargo hubs in China located within the core aviation zone for international routes.”
He says Hong Kong Airlines is the first foreign airline entitled to night flights in Tianjin Airport. The airline started Hong Kong – Tianjin services on 31 March 2014, and it hopes to expand further in Northern China. It hopes to use its tenth year of operations to expand its Asian networks in Japan, Korea and South East Asian countries, and is looking into long-haul routes.
Li says: “We plan to launch over 10 new destinations in 2016, from the very first Gold Coast, Australia to a wider range in the Asia Pacific region and beyond.”
