Biman Bangladesh Airlines takes delivery of Boeing 737-800

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has taken delivery of its first direct purchased Boeing 737-800 Next Generation, as part of its fleet modernisation.

The Bangladeshi airline operates two 737-800s, two Boeing 777-200 Extended Ranges (ER), four Boeing 777-300ERs, two Airbus A310-300s and two Bombardier Dash 8 Q400s. It also has four Boeing 787-8s on order.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines managing director and chief executive officer, Kyle Haywood says: “We are extremely satisfied with the Next Generation 737-800 which has earned a worldwide reputation for its reliability and operational efficiency. Biman Bangladesh is on target to expand and modernise its fleet.”

Boeing Commercial Airplanes vice president sales, Middle East, Russia and Central Asia, Marty Bentrott says: “Boeing is very proud of Biman Bangladesh’s confidence in our products and we are certain the 737-800 will support the airline’s fleet modernisation and operational efficiency goals. We look forward to continuing this partnership well into the future.”
