Bern Airport security approval for Cargologic

Cargologic has been awarded approval by the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) in Switzerland to perform airfreight security checks at Bern Airport.

The Rhenus subsidiary has successfully undergone an inspection of its Berne location and it means the company is now authorised to secure previously unsecured airfreight for onward air transport.

Following an inspection by FOCA, Cargologic has passed the national and international requirements for airfreight security screening.

The granting of an approval to perform airfreight security checks on 9 November 2015 strengthens the company’s Berne operations and its industrial customers.

Up to now, unsecure shipments could only obtain security clearance at larger airports, thus creating logistical inconveniences for regional customers.

Cargologic has been securing freight consignments at Zurich Airport since 2007.

“We apply the highest possible security standards to the air freight handled by us. That’s why we are continually investing to meet legal requirements and our customers’ needs,” says Cargologic’s managing director, Marco Gredig.

“The granting of this vital approval to our Berne location shows that Cargologic meets even the most rigorous external requirements in airfreight handling.

“In the interests of security, we are continuously developing our leading-edge expertise at all our locations so that our operating and technical competencies are kept permanently up-to-date.”
