SAS has announced the launch of a new direct route from Copenhagen to Seattle, with five weekly flights starting in May 2025. This move comes as part of SAS’s continued effort to meet the growing demand for travel to the U.S. and strengthen its global connectivity. The new route also offers exciting opportunities for SAS Cargo to expand its operations, particularly in the Pacific Northwest, a region known for its robust economy and growing logistics demand.

While this marks an important milestone for SAS, resuming service between Copenhagen and Seattle 57 years after its inaugural flight, it also holds strategic value for air cargo operations. Seattle’s role as a key economic hub, especially in sectors like technology, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals, aligns perfectly with SAS Cargo’s commitment to delivering reliable and efficient services for a wide range of industries.

For SAS Cargo, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac) offers new potential for growth. Sea-Tac handled 50.9 million passengers in 2023 and has seen a steady increase in cargo operations. The new route will create additional capacity for air cargo shipments, connecting SAS Cargo customers to 39 European cities via Copenhagen, including major hubs like Berlin, Helsinki, Milan, and Zurich.
