ITA Airways Cargo has announced that it is partnering with WebCargo for real-time pricing and eBooking across WebCargo’s leading over 3,500 forwarder network across 10,000 offices worldwide, thus moving another step forward ITA Airways’ expansion plan on digital channels.
This partnership is the natural product of particularly strong eBooking adoption in Italy, which already is one of the most active countries on WebCargo’s eBooking platform, and ITA Airways’ digital channels development strategy. With the addition of ITA Airways, airlines representing over 45% of global air cargo capacity are available for booking on WebCargo, the largest capacity availability across any platform.

The launch allows forwarders across 19 countries, including Italy, Belgium, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, the United States and Netherlands to easily price and book air cargo, with a native integration to WebCargo’s freight rate management and sales platforms. They can benefit from quick and efficient digital access to ITA Airways Cargo’s worldwide capacities. This geographic scope will further expand to additional regions in 2023.
ITA Airways offers to freight forwarders a best-in-class product in terms of flight times and regularity of services to move cargo to and from Italy, covering a wide network of international destinations, combined with an efficient Road Feeder Service. Besides, the airline cargo hub in Rome Fiumicino naturally serves key freight traffic flows between the East and the West of the world.

ITA Airways Cargo’s expansion onto WebCargo further increases market view of its network capacity and services. Digital distribution expansion is a key strategic pillar of ITA Airways Cargo development plan, together with quality and sustainability. Through digital connectivity, ITA Airways Cargo aims at building an offer which provides customers with quality services in real time and with constant control over their shipments.
“We’re thrilled to have the first Italian carrier digitise with WebCargo, and to support ITA in their mission to deliver a world-class customer experience,” Camilo Garcia, Global VP Business Development at WebCargo, said. “As we observe the rapid adoption of eBookings, particularly across Europe and the Americas, we’re continuing to see the benefits of digital sales in expanding the ‘shop-window’ for carriers, by enabling large and small forwarders alike to discover and access their services, 24/7, through platforms like WebCargo.”
