Sovereign Speed takes over Businesswings

Sovereign Speed takes over Businesswings

Sovereign Speed has expanded its service as an express logistics provider with the 100% take-over of Businesswings.

By taking over the Kassel-based aviation company, Sovereign Speed can offer customers all forms of urgent transport ranging from direct journeys, overnight transport via its own express network or aircraft charters.

Frank Liebelt, group managing director says: “For us, this is a strategic investment, as Sovereign’s customer solutions, in particular the European express network and the collection and delivery runs, can be perfectly combined with those of Businesswings. From AOG to medical equipment – we are proud to be able to serve all requirements within Europe with this acquisition.”

The sale took place in the course of an age-related succession plan, and the previously owner-managed company Businesswings is now part of the Sovereign Group as a subsidiary.

The 20 employees and managing director Jens Maecker will remain with the company, which has held an air operator’s certificate for over 25 years.

Liebelt says: “We are pleased to maintain the course of Businesswings and to continue the very successful business model with the existing team.”
