SpiceJet starts freighter services to Hyderabad

Hyderabad has gained a new freighter route, with SpiceJet operating six flights a week to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

The first Boeing 737-700 Freighter flight landed on 1 August, and arriving from Chennai at 21.45 and departing for Delhi at 22.45h.

The service operates on a Chennai – Hyderabad – Delhi – Mumbai – Bangalore route and has the capacity for about 20 tonnes of cargo.

Shippers will have greater access to markets in the Commonwealth of Independent States via Delhi, as well as quicker domestic deliveries.

SGK Kishore, CEO of GMR Hyderabad International Airport says: “With the addition of this new freighter, customers will have more options to ship their goods within the country and beyond. The availability of high-quality, daily cargo services is essential for the development of trade especially in high-value and time-sensitive products.”
