DB Schenker opens new facility

A year after its launch in Europe, DB Schenker is opening its 4.0 Shipping Portal to customers in the US.

The portal offers shippers a more user-friendly interface for booking and managing shipments.

It goes beyond the eSchenker platform, allowing shippers to get a quote for an air or ocean shipment, book and track the shipment from pickup to delivery.

Jeff Barrie, CEO for DB Schenker USA says: “All things being equal, small to medium size businesses now can get a quote, book and track a shipment with full online visibility from pickup to delivery using air and ocean transportation singularly or as a combination of services offered.”

Richard Ebach, CIO Americas for DB Schenker says: “The Connect 4 application was designed from the customers’ point of view, the goal was to create responsive and intuitive designs that provide immediate quoting, booking and tracking functionality that is expected from a leading digital forwarder.”
