Following the successful launch of its Young Forwarder Network (YFN), the British International Freight Association (BIFA), says it will now commence a programme of regional meetings across the UK.
The first will take place in Alderley Edge on 11 April, marking the launch of the BIFA YFN regional group in the North West.
On 1 May, the South East and Anglia YFN will have its first meeting in Chelmsford, followed by the launch of the Midlands YFN on 21 May in Birmingham.
During each event, participants will be provided with more details about the YFN and be given an opportunity to discuss how they would like their regional groups to operate going forwards.
The launch events are open to all; employers, apprentices, graduates, or those new to the industry.
Carl Hobbis, BIFA’s training development manager, says: “Each event will give participants an opportunity to network with their peers and learn from industry professionals; and will assist in the development of future freight forwarding ambassadors and leaders for the sector.
“By creating several regional networking groups, run by young forwarders, the YFN will help early talent and young BIFA members develop their knowledge and professional skills, but in a more social environment.”
