Hong Kong continues to soar with 11% growth in July

Air cargo volumes at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) continue to soar with 11 per cent year-on-year growth in July.

The airport handled 422,000 tonnes of cargo in July, coinciding with an improvement in global trade, with exports leading the way.

Exports grew 15 per cent while transhipments rose 10 per cent, with Europe recording the most significant increase amongst key trading regions.

Cargo volumes have grown 11.3 per cent in the first seven months of 2017 to 2.7 million tonnes and by 9.5 per cent to 4.8 million tonnes on a rolling 12-month basis.
